You know, those little things that if you are paying attention the universe tells you - unfortunately most of the time we don't notice.<br />
<br />
Like the sign that I've walked past a dozen times during the past week but for some reason today I read it and it slapped me in the face.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKrVnBbm5FBK1ZH2lNYunU0b1cBNgRU7h7wF99bN6YWqKuEPb1XTwemtLCX5iidIHn2zXMuftmzTGzFpcT7iYL14y6xPZVjNHqd2GrzO1rgGXBciPU7OpFJgPC_WSKkjV6Z9tLaQ/s1600/P6160746.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKrVnBbm5FBK1ZH2lNYunU0b1cBNgRU7h7wF99bN6YWqKuEPb1XTwemtLCX5iidIHn2zXMuftmzTGzFpcT7iYL14y6xPZVjNHqd2GrzO1rgGXBciPU7OpFJgPC_WSKkjV6Z9tLaQ/s320/P6160746.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Over the weekend I sat and looked at my desk. No big deal, right? Well I live in a studio apartment in NYC with a boyfriend and a cat. My apartment, if you own a house, is probably the size of your bedroom. My desk is buried, I'm surrounded by books (I love to read) and all I can think about is twisting silver wire around some beads and creating a necklace BUT first I must dump the mail that has piled up, move a few things, donate some books...then today I walk past the sign above, giggled and said to myself - ok, I get it. Out with the old and in with the new.<br />
<br />
What do you need to let go of in order to move forward? I'd love to know please share a comment.Lorihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17459086479104197464noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27140359.post-12263517701443655052011-08-14T10:20:00.000-04:002011-08-14T10:20:16.070-04:00Public ArtToday we say goodbye to Echo, a sculpture by <span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, 'Liberation Sans', FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;"><a href="http://jaumeplensa.com/">Jaume Plensa</a></span>.<br />
<br />
During the past few months she has brought a sense of calm to me in Madison Square Park in NYC. At least once a week I would enjoy her beauty while eating my lunch or simply taking a walk through the park to escape the concrete chaos.<br />
<br />
I'm in love with public art. Thank you NYC for allowing artist to decorate our landscape in this chaotic city if even for a few months.<br />

What brings you calm while you are surrounded by your chaos? <br />
Have you been moved by any public art recently?<br />

Beth Nicholls is a warm and wonderful host. Her words, thoughts, class activities and her support and feedback was amazing.<br />
<br />
Small steps as I move toward my goal of being an artist without a 9-5 job. First, step to post here more often. Two, take more pictures. Three, make more jewelry!!!<br />
<br />
Below is a mosiac of photos that took during the ecourse - challenged to notice what the universe was telling me and to photograph my least favorite color, white, I discovered that I really don't pay attention to the simple things around me as much as I thought...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3vUGxKcar73Z-9xNhL1xN0fqSc1f2srZMJIXADHhG1T1XrhZ6CM4ASibAUCzGbHSy2TU9Mvnh9yKHcHa6CL3tgS9meLOVEWBHquazmYMBL7mATzJvax_p0zY2YlDZmEPY7mmyGA/s1600/mosiac.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3vUGxKcar73Z-9xNhL1xN0fqSc1f2srZMJIXADHhG1T1XrhZ6CM4ASibAUCzGbHSy2TU9Mvnh9yKHcHa6CL3tgS9meLOVEWBHquazmYMBL7mATzJvax_p0zY2YlDZmEPY7mmyGA/s320/mosiac.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Do you notice the signs/messages as you walk down the street? What is your least favorite color? Do you notice it? How much of it do you have around you?<br />
<br />

I lost myself to the travel, the long hours, the stress - it seemed to suck me dry. I miss me - my creative life; taking pictures, making jewelry, smiling - mostly I miss seeing the world through creative eyes. <div><br /></div><div>I became one of the 'dead people' as I call them. Michael took this picture. The curve of the bass, the wrinkles around his eyes - - I can only imagine the smile that is probably on his face.<br /><div></div>Lorihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17459086479104197464noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27140359.post-27673231485582446962007-06-02T11:14:00.000-04:002008-12-09T18:47:24.578-05:00NYC Green Market<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeM_iw54aD4YNyVuI-WM2XiFUvI6Nd0NBHHVGMet_JTYCVTkwIQE5JDOx5Ig5Bcnq1_sK0CvHHW2x1eMYz550sNtleRP60P8aXS5pwbXPcKTKuGErOJiICG3Gl2VAOpSKhR9dh6A/s1600-h/DSC_1211.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5071487822313251442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeM_iw54aD4YNyVuI-WM2XiFUvI6Nd0NBHHVGMet_JTYCVTkwIQE5JDOx5Ig5Bcnq1_sK0CvHHW2x1eMYz550sNtleRP60P8aXS5pwbXPcKTKuGErOJiICG3Gl2VAOpSKhR9dh6A/s320/DSC_1211.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfGS0unkBvyUIr3CE4sHSUFOLUy3KneiUKoq1GZKLjqeeTgcU0um7TZdBUfQYAGjZV8HicHUprhbU-PpEVJCB93vFclAFddXM20Aaw0PVHZK6A9pX5Q42y5CT6BfrBw8gqrizHkA/s1600-h/DSC_1218.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5071486770046263906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfGS0unkBvyUIr3CE4sHSUFOLUy3KneiUKoq1GZKLjqeeTgcU0um7TZdBUfQYAGjZV8HicHUprhbU-PpEVJCB93vFclAFddXM20Aaw0PVHZK6A9pX5Q42y5CT6BfrBw8gqrizHkA/s320/DSC_1218.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><br />The Green Market at Union Square in New York City is beautiful. The simple colors that nature produces are amazing!<br /><br />Take your time when you are there to see the vibrant colors. Go early to listen to the chatter of the chefs bartering for the best prices. Savor the art the nature has produced – taste it for the first time.Lorihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17459086479104197464noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27140359.post-5504238903797469042007-05-29T21:24:00.001-04:002008-12-09T18:47:24.706-05:00Tears of Nature<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQXNYrjy6IoKRm-L9HGrzZV5I3zyWcweJDx44SYHIIPCok-80xH6uKm3MuTuENr3meTf3hN1NE7fsc83q5sCjIg-SvHhrnZ8X4RrWJBgk1lWI1xwtILu97XvosOLaGW7LF7U81Eg/s1600-h/Tears+of+Nature.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5070159994518987346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQXNYrjy6IoKRm-L9HGrzZV5I3zyWcweJDx44SYHIIPCok-80xH6uKm3MuTuENr3meTf3hN1NE7fsc83q5sCjIg-SvHhrnZ8X4RrWJBgk1lWI1xwtILu97XvosOLaGW7LF7U81Eg/s320/Tears+of+Nature.JPG" border="0" /></a>This is my favorite face in New York City...<br /><br />The weather has created a tearline down her face. When was the last time that you noticed the beautiful sculpture that exists on the brownstones in NYC? The art that exists in our every day life should be noticed. Take the time to breathe in the simple art that surrounds you.<br /><div></div>Lorihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17459086479104197464noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27140359.post-79199828054803304162006-12-14T18:05:00.000-05:002006-12-14T18:09:15.265-05:00The Miniature EarthWhat if the world's population were reduce to 100...<br /><br /><a href="http://www.miniature-earth.com/">The Miniature Earth</a><br /><br />As your shopping this holiday season please consider making a donation to a nonprofit organization as a gift to friend or family member.<br /><br />Happy Holidays!Lorihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17459086479104197464noreply@blogger.com0
